How to do it
Select a wall. Exterior walls count as load-bearing; mark other walls as load-bearing in the inspector.
The inspector shows what the wall carries: floor decks, roof and snow, and walls and posts above.
Press “Replace with beam”. The wall is demolished on an alterations layer and a sized beam takes its place.
Open the Structure tab for the beam’s size, bearings and posts, and for the order of work from permit to done.
Hide the alterations layer to compare with the house as it is.
